Send me Notes From The Winemaker so I can stay up to date with Barboursville Wines:

Sauvignon Blanc 2009

price per bottle $12.99

Vigorously typical Sauvignon Blanc, with no feral affects. Balletic backbone and vitality, inexhaustibly effusive with bright citrusy aromas and flavors sustained by vine-ripened power of its fruit. A classic worth seeking out, with pinpoint sympathy for its renowned food preferences -- root vegetables, fennel flavorings, oysters, it ls also a brilliant aperitif.

Vintage Factors:
The fourth vintage in a row of outstandingly vivid ripening throughout our vineyard.

Vinification:
Fermented in stainless steel for 15 days at 55 degrees F. Aged on the lees in stainless steel 4 months. 100 percent Sauvignon Blanc, unblended.

Analysis:
12.5% Alcohol
0.3% Residual Sugar
0.71% Total Acidity

Tasting Notes:
A vivacious effusion of citrusy freshness, joined by classic herbal notes and traces of lush kiwi, as the wine settles into a pleasantly long finish.

Optimum Drinking:
Meant to be drunk young, ideally 1-2 years.

Food Pairings:
Risotto with asparagus and fried leeks
Pan seared sea bass with shaved fennel salad
Spinach and rice cakes with roast pepper purée
